Torticollis means "twisted neck," If a child has this condition, his head will be tilted to one side while the chin is turned to the other side. It's also sometimes called wryneck. While it may look painful, it usually isn't.Congenital torticollis is most often due to tightness in the muscle that connects the breastbone and the collarbone to the skull. (It's called the sternocleidomastoid muscle). This is called congenital muscular torticollis. This tightness might have developed because of the way your baby was positioned in the uterus (with the head tilted to one side) or because the muscles were damaged during delivery.That what Noah has. It's not really a huge deal I guess, but as a parent you don't want anything wrong with your child. The part that gets me is that it may have been caused from the forceps delivery.
Anyhow, they want him to go to therapy for it, but the crazy thing is the pediatric therapy clinics in town have SUPER long waiting lists. More then slightly disturbing! It all started when Mom mentioned to me that he was always tilting his head to one side. I noticed it too, but hadn't vocalized it. So anyhow, since then, we've been trying to position him in ways where he has to use and strengthen the muscles on his right side. It's really helped, and we've noticed that it's getting a lot better! However, we went in to the pediatrician for a check up and she noticed it, and gave it a name.
So please pray for him. It's nothing super series, but I want nothing more then for God to heal him. I know with one touch God can strengthen Noah's muscles and repair any damage done. I want soooo much to have the kind of faith to reach out and touch Noah and say "In the name of Jesus be healed!" and watch his neck straighten out. Why oh why can't I?!!???
Anyhow, that's that.
In other news, something that's been fun is we are looking at buying land in Ohio and building a log home. It's been fun looking at the possibilities!! Levi's in contact with a realtor and a builder. And we are going to go to a log home show when we are in Virginia next month. We are going to meet the log home manufacture and look at some plans. SOOOO fun!! BUT. We'll see what happens. God knows what our desires our, but God also knows what's ULTIMATELY best. We just want His will!!

Yes, we will be sure to pray for Noah. We requested prayer for him at our prayer meeting last night. Don't doubt what God can do. He can heal him. That is why he took the 39 stripes on his back for our healing. Love ya all tons :) cannot wait till you get here to visit.

ReplyDeleteThe devil loves to fill our hearts with fear. One of his preferred avenues is the health of our children because it's such a tender spot--I know! Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him, and He will strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord. Keep putting Noah in God's hands--there is no better place for Him to be. I will pray for him. What a BLESSING to serve the Great Physician! :-)
